Signing up for Rookery Isles has been rebuilt from the ground up and verified end to end with a live test account. If you tried to join before and hit a wall, it will work now, and we would love to have you.
The "unknown error" page is dead
Some new players clicked Create Account and got a Cloudflare "Web server is returning an unknown error" page while the rest of the site worked fine. The submission was being eaten by a network hop before it ever reached us, invisible to every log. The website now talks to Cloudflare through a dedicated tunnel, which removes that hop entirely. This class of failure is gone, not patched around.
Sign in with Discord, and only Discord
The website's username and password sign-in has been removed. One button: Sign In with Discord. It verifies you're in the Rookery Isles Discord and either signs you in or walks you through creating your game account. Your launcher still uses your game username and password, and the password reset link is still on the sign-in page.
Smaller fixes that were quietly losing people
- Website sessions could be deleted by Windows housekeeping mid-registration, which broke sign-ups for some people and not others. Sessions moved somewhere safe.
- A safety limit could lock out every new player for an hour if several people registered in the same evening. It now only ever counts your own attempts.
- If your chosen username is already taken, the form now points you to the "claim your existing account" flow instead of leaving you stuck.
- Slow moments during account creation could kill the process mid-way. It now gets plenty of time to finish.
If anything in the sign-up path still misbehaves, say so in Discord. Every step now reports exactly where it failed, so we can see precisely what happened to your specific attempt.
