Everything you ride or sail on Rookery Isles: how to get and level mounts and battle pets, what gliders do, and how to build land vehicles and ships through the Machining vocation in ArcheAge 3.0 (Revelation).

The Three Buckets
ArcheAge stores everything you ride, drive, or sail in three different ways. Knowing which bucket a thing lives in tells you exactly how it is summoned, leveled, and built. This is the single most useful mental model for the whole domain.

The big takeaway for crafters: ships, cars, gliders, and tractors are all built by the Machining vocation, not Carpentry. Mounts and Battle Pets
A mount is a tamed creature ("mate"). You buy or earn a mount item, use it from your bag, and it summons your personal animal. Most mounts arrive at level 5 and grow from there. You do not need a high character level to own one: every mount item checked has a level requirement of 0, so you can summon a horse the moment you have one.
Mount families
There are many cosmetic skins, but they sort into a handful of behavior families. Each family handles differently and gets a different mounted skill set.

The "family" labels above are descriptive: the database does not store a localized name for each mount type, so describe a mount by its family, not by an internal kind number.
Mount prices and where to get them
Mount items are sold by stablers (mount vendors) and also come from quests and events. Prices are stored in copper, where 10,000 copper equals 1 gold; the Currencies and Vendors guide covers how the coin economy works. These are confirmed item prices.

If you are brand new, the Lilyut Horse is the obvious first buy. New players should also read the New Player Guide and Leveling Guide, which cover when a mount starts saving you real time.
Leveling a Mount
Mounts and battle pets earn mate experience and climb a shared level ladder. A higher mount level means more health and access to its stronger mounted skills. Mates gain experience while you ride them in combat and as you adventure.
These cumulative thresholds are confirmed from the level table.

Most mounts summon at level 5 and the practical ceiling for everyday riding is level 50. The jump to 55 (and beyond) is an enormous "ascended" tier reserved for very rare elite mounts; do not expect to push an ordinary horse there. Exactly how much experience a mount gains per activity, and whether grooming or feeding items speed it up, is not something we can confirm from the server data, so treat any specific per-action numbers you see elsewhere as community-reported, not server-confirmed.
Mounted Skills and Mount Armor
Mounted skills
Once mounted you get a small action bar of mount abilities. The exact set depends on the family. For the basic Lilyut Horse the confirmed kit is:

Combat-oriented families (snowlions, leomorphs) trade some of this for leaps, and flying mounts get flight skills instead. The principle is the same: leveling the mount unlocks and strengthens these.
Mount armor (barding)
Mounts have equipment slots for head, chest, feet, and waist. You can fit barding and armor into those slots to give a mount more survivability, which matters if you ride into open-world PvP. Different mount types use one of two slot layouts. This is the same idea as character Gear Progression, scaled down to a single animal.
Gliders
Gliders are equipped items, not mates or slaves. You slot one and deploy it from a fall or a height to glide across terrain, dodge fall damage, and reposition in PvP. The whole progression line is crafted by the Machining vocation using the "Craft Glider" skill.

There are also mid-flight combat and utility deployables you can throw or fire while gliding: Glider Smokescreen, Glider Bomb, Glider Barrage, and Rescue Glider, plus build components like the Glider Thruster and Glider Steering Mechanism. Land Vehicles
Land vehicles are slaves summoned from a "Scroll:" item, and they are built with the Machining vocation (the "Craft Vehicle" and "Modify Car" skills, learned on Mirage Isle). Every land vehicle checked is a level-50 slave, but as covered in the deviations note below, that is not a character-level wall you have to clear to drive one.
There are two broad lines.

Most assembly recipes consume a Design plus a set of crafted components (frames, wheels, shafts, engines), and each of those components is itself a Machining or Handicrafts sub-craft. That is why building a car feels like a small supply chain rather than a single click. A full worked example is below.
Ships and Boats
Player vessels are slaves with a passenger capacity greater than 0. They are built with Machining ("Vessel Crafting" and "Build Ship"). Small boats are a single craft you can make at a workbench; larger ships are assembled at a drydock over time. Every player vessel checked is a level-50 slave.

The Enoan Galleon, at 50 capacity, is the biggest vessel a player builds. It is produced through the galleon drydock described next.
The Shipyard (Drydock) Build System
Big ships are not crafted in one action. Instead you use a Design item to place a drydock in the water, then feed it materials through a series of build steps until the hull is finished. When complete, the drydock hands you the ship's summon scroll.
These drydock builds are confirmed in the data.

A few things to plan around:
- The galleon is the longest build. Its drydock runs through the most build steps of any vessel, with the step health ramping the highest, which is the data's confirmation that it is the heaviest project on the list.
- The parking window is 72 hours (3 days). That is how long the drydock holds before its tax window matters, so coordinate with a crew or guild before you lay down a galleon. See Guild System and Taxes for how shared builds and taxes interact.
- Small boats skip the drydock entirely. A Rowboat is just a single workbench craft, as shown below.
Worked Build Examples
Every recipe here is read directly from the server's craft tables: station, labor cost, exact materials, and the item produced. Coin is the in-game money reagent. Rowboat (the easiest vessel)

The Rowboat is the cheapest entry to the water: ten Lumber and a workbench, no drydock. If you can chop and process wood (see Logging Guide and Carpentry and Masonry), you can put a boat on the sea.
Eznan Cutter (direct recipe, a 20-seat sailboat)

This is a major jump in materials: a hundred each of Lumber, Iron Ingot, and Fabric. It is the step where shipbuilding becomes a real cross-vocation project, pulling on Logging plus Carpentry for Lumber, Mining plus Metalwork for ingots (see Mining Guide and Metalwork and Smithing), and Tailoring for Fabric. The drydock path to an Eznan Cutter is an alternative to this direct recipe.
Farm Wagon (the workhorse trade hauler)

Note that the Farm Wagon literally consumes a Scroll: Farm Cart as a base part, plus crafted components (wheels, a shaft, an engine, a bucket). It is the go-to hauler for moving big batches of trade packs overland. Pair it with the Trade Packs and Commerce guide before you commit to a route.
Comet Speedster (a roadster, showing the full component chain)
The final assembly is small, but it hides a supply chain underneath:

Each of those parts is its own craft:
- Crafted Vehicle Frame: Comet Speedster is a Handicrafts craft (50 labor, Handicraft Kiln): 10 Red Pigment, 10 Nuri Forest Lumber, 10 Cloudspun Fabric, 10 Wind Spirit Leather, 10 Gold Ingot, 4 Coin.
- Racing Chassis is a Machining craft (50 labor, Carpentry Workbench): 4 Solid Shaft, 2 High Power Engine, 10 Hydraulic Shaft, 4 Bright Headlight, 2 Spiral Accelerator, 4 Coin.
- Rubber Tire is a Machining craft (50 labor, Carpentry Workbench): 1 Strong Wheel, 20 Natural Rubber, 4 Coin (and you need four tires).
So the headline labor of 25 on the final step is misleading: the real cost of a Comet Speedster is spread across all of those sub-crafts, which is true of every higher-end vehicle. Budget Labor and Proficiency accordingly.
Experimental Glider (the entry glider)

This is one of the cheapest quality-of-life crafts in the game and a great early Machining project. Higher gliders (Improved, Enhanced, Ultimate, and the named combat gliders) follow the same Design-plus-materials pattern.
Sea Trade and Naval Combat
The open sea is where mounts, vehicles, and ships all converge into the wider economy.
Sea trade. Trade packs you carry overland on a Donkey or Farm Wagon often pay the most when delivered across the water. A Merchant Schooner (12 capacity) or a larger hull lets you move many packs at once between continents, and the seas are the fastest route between Nuia and Haranya. The pack economy, turn-in points, and profit math live in Trade Packs and Commerce; use this article to pick the hull and that one to plan the run.
Naval combat. Combat hulls (the Clipper line, Growling Yawl, and the arena Balingers) exist to fight and to defend trade convoys. They mount naval weapons, which are themselves crafted slaves: cannons, ballistae, and turrets that bolt onto a ship or a castle. The War Drum is one such craftable mount. The Harpoon Clipper carries a harpoon for whaling and for pinning enemy ships.
A blunt warning: all seas on this server are free-PvP (Arcadian Sea, Sunspeck Sea, Castaway Strait, the Pirate-held Stormraw Sound, Halcyona Gulf, Feuille Sound, Boiling Sea, and Shattered Sea). There are no peace timers at sea. Any cargo you sail is fair game, so escort valuable runs or move in a fleet. Exact per-ship stats (top speed, turn rate, hull health) are tracked internally but are not numbers we can publish with confidence, so treat any specific figures elsewhere as community-reported, not server-confirmed.
Public Transport
Not everything you ride is yours. The world runs a free, NPC-driven public transport network of carriages, ferries, circular airships, and trains. You do not build these; you simply hop on at a stop. Confirmed routes include:
- A circular airship loop around Mirage Isle's hub
- Carriage loops linking Solzreed Peninsula and Lilyut Hills
- A Gweonid Forest to Lilyut Hills carriage
- A White Forest to Falcorth Plains carriage
- A Marianople to Two Crowns carriage
- A Mahadevi to Sunbite Wilds carriage
- Internal trains and trams around Andelph, plus a Primeval Cradle circular train
These are a free way to cross a zone while you are still saving for your first mount. The World Atlas shows where the stops connect.
On Rookery Isles
A few things differ from generic ArcheAge guides, and they matter when you plan a build:
- You do not need to be level 52 to build a boat, car, or glider. Every vehicle, ship, and glider craft carries an internal "recommended level 52" label, and the NL0bP fork this server is based on originally turned similar labels into hard gates. Rookery removed that gate. The summon items themselves have a level requirement of 0, so the real requirement is knowing the Machining build skill (learned on Mirage Isle) and having the materials and labor, not your character level.
- Ships, cars, gliders, and tractors are Machining, not Carpentry. This is the single most common mix-up in older ArcheAge guides. Carpentry's role is to turn Logs into the Lumber these builds devour. The assembly skills ("Vessel Crafting," "Build Ship," "Craft Vehicle," "Craft Glider") are all Machining.
- All gathering works from level 1 here. The same fork bug that mislabeled crafts also gated every gathering skill behind level 52; Rookery patched it. So you can start chopping wood and mining ore for your first Rowboat or Eznan Cutter immediately. Never plan around a "level 52 to gather" rule on this server.
