Honor vendors removed — Honor Point Collector and PvP-cluster merchants despawned

The dedicated PvP economy on Rookery Isles never really fit the realm. We don't run faction wars; the realm operates as one cross-faction Alliance (see v1.0.12); the PvP-daily quest-givers Ashley wanted gone turned out to not exist as NPCs at all (those quests are auto-acquired with no NPC trigger). The visible part of the honor economy that DID exist was the vendor network — and that's what this patch removes.

What's gone

121 spawn entries pulled from the main world. Two distinct groups:

  • Honor Point Collector (template 7054) — all 65 spawns. This is the canonical PvP-rewards storefront — sells 107 honor-priced items and nothing else. Every honor-rewards instance across the world is now empty real estate.
  • 53 named PvP-cluster vendors — 56 spawns total. Battlefield quartermasters, faction-war merchants, and similar named NPCs whose inventory was 15+ honor-priced items each. Most had a single spawn; a couple had 2–4.

A further 20 templates qualified by inventory but were never actually placed in the world — no spawns to remove there.

What's still there

  • All ~270 general merchants that happen to stock 1–14 honor items mixed in with normal goods. Your local town vendor stays where she is, just with one or two slots that will be unbuyable until those items are repriced. We'll either leave them as harmless dead inventory or sweep them on a follow-up patch — your call.
  • World bosses — Kraken, Leviathan, Hellswamp encounters, etc. These are ArcheAge staples and have nothing to do with the honor economy. Untouched.
  • The honor currency itself. Players who have an honor balance still have it; nothing was wiped. There's just nowhere to spend it.

Reversible

The 121 entries weren't deleted — they were moved from npc_spawns.json to npc_spawns.disabled.json, the same partner file we used for the gibberish purge (v1.0.11) and the cross-faction Guards rework (v1.0.10). Restoring any of them is a JSON diff away. Pre-edit backups are timestamped bak-pre-honor-vendor-despawn-20260525-164832 next to the live files.

Behind the scenes

  • One file modified: Data/Worlds/main_world/npc_spawns.json (-121 entries; the partner .disabled.json got +121).
  • 27,187 total main-world spawns → 27,066 (a 0.45% trim).
  • No C# changes, no DB migrations, no client patch.
  • Verification: .reloadconfigs in-game, or restart aaemu-game-3. NPCs disappear immediately for new sessions; existing sessions see them until the area refreshes.

PvP-quest-giver removal — the original ask — turned out to be a no-op: those quests have no quest-giver NPC. This patch handles the closest real surface: the storefront that exists to spend the rewards.
